Viewing Flat Holm Island from the boat

1 Hour Coastal Voyage

A Coastal trip with a difference!

1 Hour Coastal Voyage

Setting off from Mermaid Quay we take you through the locking system at Cardiff Bay Barrage. Depending on the tide, we will either rise or fall to meet the sea level outside. Once in the Bristol Channel, (depending on the weather and sea conditions) we cruise along the Welsh coastline taking in the local sights such as Penarth Pier, Penarth coastline and then if the sea conditions allow we head across to Flat Holm Island.

Near Flat Holm we can demonstrate the effects of the second highest tidal range in the World to you; as well as providing a brief history of the island and the wildlife it has to offer. You may see some of the Canada Geese, Oyster Catchers and the resident Lesser Black Backed Gulls, amongst other birds and wildlife that inhabit the island.

As Flat Holm is the most southerly point in Wales, what better place than to take a picture on board with us!

For a short trip this really does pack in a lot –  history, wildlife and spectacular views.
