I understand that there are inherent risks involved with powerboat trips, including but not limited to sudden movements, changes of speed and direction, environmental hazards, bouncing and jerking motions.
As the lead persons booking, I hereby assume such risks for myself and my party.
These trips can cause sudden movements and stress to the muscular and skeletal system and put pressure on the spine in particular. I understand that I have a duty to exercise reasonable care for my own safety and I agree to do so.
I and my party will follow the guidance of the Safety Brief provided by the vessel crew. I and my party understand that this trip is NOT A THRILL RIDE.
In the event I or any member of my party show signs of distress or call for aid, I would like assistance and will not hold Bay Island Voyages, their crew or passengers responsible for their actions in attempting the performance or rescue of first aid.
I CONFIRM THE FOLLOWING FOR MYSELF AND ALL MEMBERS OF MY PARTY:
I/they do not have a back injury or ailment.
I/they are not pregnant.
I/they do not suffer with any ailment that may be made worse from this activity.
I/they will not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the trip.
I confirm I/they are fully fit to ride the vessel.
I/they do not have any of the COVID-19 symptoms at the time of the trip and if within 14 days of my trip I/they develop any symptoms, I/they will notify Bay Island Voyages for their health & safety / track & trace purposes.
I/they agree to being supplied with the necessary safety equipment and ensuring it fits correctly.
I/they agree that during the vessel voyage, if I/they should feel any discomfort, I/they will notify the crew immediately.
Any underlying medical conditions, medications or requirements have been notified to Bay Island Voyages prior to undertaking the trip.
If we haven’t addressed what you’re looking for, further questions can be answered via our contact us page or alternatively you can call us on 07393 470476.
All trips conducted by Bay Island Voyages are NOT Thrill Rides. However, due to the manoeuvrability of the boats anyone with pre-existing conditions such as back pain, neck pain, previous injuries that could be aggravated by any sudden movements; or if you are pregnant will not be able to participate.
We reserve the right to refuse to carry anyone who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. We also ask that if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, for example epilepsy, you let us know before travelling so we can be aware of them.
Whilst we are an inclusive provider, safety of our passengers comes first. There are limitations for access onto the boats, therefore we ask that anyone with a physical disability contact us prior to booking, to ensure that we are able to safely get you aboard.
Our trips are suitable for all ages; however, the only restriction we have is that people are at least 1.1 meters tall, able to reach the footrests and can hold onto the safety bar in front of them throughout the trip.
We can arrange slower trips if required as a group, and consider people under the 1.1-meter limit.
We can take a maximum of 12 people per boat. We have 3 boats so can take a maximum of 36 people depending on the type of trip you require.
We need a minimum of 6 people to run a trip. Each boat can take a maximum of 12 people. If you have a group smaller than 6 we can put you together with other groups to get a trip that can run.
It tends to be a lot colder at sea than it is on the land. We suggest layers of clothing and if you have waterproof trousers and jackets we suggest you bring them, you can always leave them in your seat locker.
We also provide a life jacket for every passenger.
It depends on the weather, but for most trips you will probably get at least a little splash. The only trip where you probably won’t get wet is a Bay Voyage, as long as it is not raining.
The weather can change at short notice, therefore it can require the need to cancel trips. Should this be the case then as much notice as possible will be given. You will be given the choice to arrange an alternative trip or a full refund will be given.
Rain does not stop the trips going ahead, hence the suggestion that you bring waterproofs if the weather looks unfavourable.
If weather/sea conditions do not look favourable for the booked trip, the skipper will make the final decision and the call will solely be made on the safety of passengers.
All deposits are non refundable.
Upon full payment if you cancel:
– up to 48hrs prior to your trip start time 100% refund will be given.
– Under 48hrs prior to your trip, then we reserve the right to withhold the full amount.
All cancellations should be made via phone, with an email for request of refund or alternative date.
If your trip is cancelled by Bay Island Voyages, you will be entitled to a full refund or alternative trip date.
Should Bay Island Voyages need to cancel the trip for reasons such as bad weather then a full refund or alternative date will be offered.
